About Us

What We do

1. Hypnobirthing and Birth Prep Classes

You may have have heard of hypnobirthing, but what exactly does it mean?

Simply put, if a birth-giver starts to panic and falls into 'fight or flight mode' during labour; contractions simply cannot progress. The aim of hypnobirthing is to help the birth-giver come back to a place of mental safety.

When using these tools, you will essentially teach your brain to produce as much oxytocin as possible, and learn how to calm your nervous system. This will allow your body to have effective, regular and strong contractions.

The goal of hypnobirthing is to help you feel more in control, and better able to cope with labour discomfort. Hypnobirthing is a scientifically proven method of counteracting birth related fear, much of which is stored in the subconscious. It is a mixture of visualisation, affirmations, positive birth mindset, relaxation, deep breathing techniques, labour positions, partner support and non medical pain relief. Learn how hypnobirthing works here.

Hypnobirthing classes can now be booked as private 1:1 sessions, online or in your home. Group classes to be announced soon!

2. Birth Preparation Modules

Along with these extensive hypnobirthing tools; this course also features childbirth education/ birth preparation.

The combination of birth and hypnobirthing materials in this course will empower you with a fuller knowledge of how things work during labor and delivery, possible  scenarios, how to advocate for your wishes, when to go to hospital, the pushing phase and beyond.

Preparation reduces anxiety, and knowledge is power. Knowing how the body works during labor and delivery – and understanding what to expect – can make the experience less scary.

How Does Hypnobirthing Work?

Research has shown that using hypnobirthing tools reduces fear and pain during birth; by training your body and mind to produce oxytocin. Oxytocin is the driving force of contractions. Too much adrenalin (fear hormone) will inhibit oxytocin production.

Hypnobirthing offers an increased sense of control during labour by encouraging the birther to come out of 'fight or flight' mode and lowering adrenalin (which causes contractions to stop.)

Statistics show that hypnobirthing lowers the rates of birth trauma, severe tearing and reduces the need for medical interventions and epidural.

Birth partners who have taken hypnobirthing classes also report they felt more able to support their partner and help them feel calm during birth.
